Welcome to the Oak Grove

It’s hard to put exactly into words how I feel in this moment, writing this inaugural post for The Oak Grove Blog. My labor of love, this blog has been many hours, days, weeks, months in the making. I’ve wanted to start a blog for a LONG time, but I’m also a great procrastinator and I’m at a point in my life where, if I don’t do it now, I likely never will. They say to do the things that scare you, so here I am, doing the thing that maybe scares me most: Putting myself out there. I’m more intimidated than I should probably admit.

Born out of my journey of rediscovery, The Oak Grove Blog is a fusion of all my wild ideas, my sleepless nights, my losses, my moments of triumph and my deepest passions. I do not claim to be an expert or an artisan; I am simply somebody with a passion and am here to share that passion with the world.

I am eager to learn and I am hungry for experience. There is so much life to be lived.  I want to learn different cultures and to see the various fabrics that make up every nook and cranny of this world. I want to expand my horizons by listening to the stories people have to tell and I want to share those stories because that’s how we learn. And we should always strive to continue learning.

My hope is for this space to be a creative place where people can find inspiration, imagination and hopefully a little bit of themselves. I want The Oak Grove Blog to be representative of all the people who find their way to this page – to showcase all the aspects that make up our everyday lives. The pages of this blog will be filled with stories, experiences, good food and all the things that make up quality of life. So cheers to revelry and good times, to finding the beauty in the unexpected, embracing the silliness, living a life of wanderlust and stopping long enough to take it all in.

It’s a lofty goal and I know it’s going to be quite a journey, but there is a lot of determination behind it. I cannot wait to see what’s to come and I’m so excited to have you all along for the ride.
